Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Sutherland-Leveson-Gower was born on 30 May 1824 and baptised on the 24 Jun 1824 at St George Hanover Square, London, Middlesex. [1][2] She was the daughter of George Granville Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 2nd Duke of Sutherland and Lady Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard.

She married George Douglas Campbell, 8th Duke of Argyll, son of John Douglas Edward Henry Campbell, 7th Duke of Argyll and Joan Glassel, on 31 July 1844 at Trentham, Staffordshire, England.

She unexpectedly took unwell and died on 25 May 1878 at age 53 at Carlton House Terrace, London, England. She was having dinner with former Prime Minister William Gladstone at the time. She was buried at Kilmun, Cowal.

Note Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Leveson-Gower (30 May 1824 – 25 May 1878) was the eldest daughter of the 2nd Duke of Sutherland by his wife Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard. She was married on the 31 July 1844 to George Douglas Campbell, Marquess of Lorne, the eldest son of the 7th Duke of Argyll. He succeeded his father as 8th Duke of Argyll in 1847. She served as Mistress of the Robes to Queen Victoria during the Liberal government of 1868. Her son Lord Lorne married the Queen's third daughter Princess Louise in 1871. She died in 1878.

John Douglas Edward Henry Campbell and Joan (Glassell) Campbell are not her parents, they are her husband George John Douglas Campbell's parents. From the comment in her notes section it would appear her parents are
