Biography

William is mentioned in a declaration made by Abel Jackson in 1854 supporting his mother's claim for Revolutionary War Pension Benefits. He is described as 10 years older than Abel and deceased. A William Jackson age 16 to 25 is found on the 1800 Anson Co., North Carolina US Census with a wife between 16 and 25 and daughter under 10.

Email from Jinny Jackson Smith Sept 2019: "William is the son on Stephen Jackson and Nancy Cook. I also have William dying before 1843 because in Able Jackson's declaration of the request to apply for his father's military pension he says - He is the sole heir to Stephen and Nancy Jackson because his brother William, ten years his senior, is no longer living. Nancy Cook Jackson dies in May 1843 and Able applies for the pension later in the year. So his declaration that his brother William is no longer living and is 10 years his senior places William being born around 1776 and dying sometime prior to 1843. William is the patriarch of my family line and has populated many descendants in the Palmyra (Montgomery County) area. We have multiple DNA participants who match and prove this. We have DNA proof for the following: All four of Stephen Jackson and Nancy Kendrick children match through DNA with two children of Stephen Jackson and Nancy Cook. They are all descendants of Robert Jackson who settled in Hempstead New York."

Jackson 11789 and Jackson 16346 have been rejected as a match. Jackson 11789 had the wrong wife attached so she was removed and more correct info and sources added. The wife of Jackson 11789 is not known but his children have been well researched and proved via DNA.

Jackson-16346 and Jackson-11789 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles list the same "no proof of existence" spouse. One profile has an active PM, while the other has been abandoned. Jackson-16346 is clearly a duplicate of Jackson-11789, yet Jackson-16346 has the correct death data.
