Biography

Birth

1603 Netherlands[1]

Marriage

Children

It has been suggested that "Jannetje Jans", born 1614 in Holland, was a daughter of Jan Evertsen and Tryntje Symons...given the parents accepted birth dates, this relationship is highly suspicious. The parents would have been about 11 years of age at ther birth. Further, janetje Jans son's first wife Annetje Praa latter married Jan Evertsen.... something strange here.

No issue has been found for this marriage.

Immigration

Tryntje's husband Jan Evertsen Bout emigrated from Texel, Holland in the beginning of May, 1634, aboard the Eendract (The Unity)[2]. "He was formerly an officer of the West Indies Company, came in the year 1634, with the ship Eendracht (Unity), in the service of the Honorable Michiel Paauw, and lived in Pavonia until the year 1634" (as his plantation superintendent), "and prospered tolerably. As the Honorable Company purchased the property of the Heer Paauw, the said Jan Evertsen succeeded well in the service of the Company, but as his house and barn at Pavonia were burnt down in the war" (Gov. Keift's 1643 Pavonia Massacre and subsequent war). There is no found informationto suggest that Tryntje did or did not accompany him.

I can find no family of origin for her, no parents in NNS. So I think she was just an obscure woman, who married in the Netherlands. Her husband is famous, but his Wikipedia article makes no mention of this wife.

By her patronymic, she should have the LNAB Symons, with an aka of de Wit. That presumes that her father was a man named Symon.

At some point, if a manager changes one of these LNAB to either Symons or to de Wit, I think that either of those would be good for NNS then.

Edit June 24, 2015: This change noted above was done, and so she is now NNS with PPP.
