Mariot Haliburton was born in Scotland.

Mariot was the second of three daughters of Patrick Halyburton, 5th Lord Dirleton[1] and Margaret Douglas.[2]

She married George Home, 4th Lord Home, son of Alexander, 2nd Lord Home, and Nichole Ker, before 30 October 1531.[1] They had issue:

  1. Alexander, 5th Lord Home d. 1575[1]
  2. Amdrew[1]
  3. Margaret[1]
