Biography

The Birth Date is a rough estimate. See the text for details.

Félicité Langlois was born around 1735 in the French territory, "Le Pays des Illinois," the daughter of Augustin Langlois and Marie Baudreau dit Graveline.[1] This area, on the East Bank of the Mississippi River, is now near Prairie du Rocher, Randolph County, Illinois, USA. After 1717 it was governed under France's Louisiana Territory and became known as "La Haute Louisiane."[2]

Félicité married Charles Lacasse, son of Charles Casse and Marie Josephte Filteau of Quebec, between 28 August 1761 and 7 October 1761.[1]

They had these known children:

  1. Charles LaCase, b. about 1762
  2. Jacques LaCase, b. about 1764
  3. Philip LaCase, b. about 1766
  4. Joseph LaCase, b. about 1767
  5. Antoine LaCase, b. 17 May 1770
  6. Etienne LaCase, b. 30 Jan 1772
  7. Michel Lacasse, b. about 1773
  8. Felicitee LaCase, b. about 1775
  9. Solange LaCase

  11. Marie Louise LaCase, bpt. 24 August 1779
  12. Francoise LaCase, b. about Jul 1782
  13. Pierre LaCase, b. 11 Feb 1786, buried 24 Dec 1796
  14. Marie LaCase, b. 10 Nov 1791
  15. Marie Silesie LaCase, b. before 1794

Félicité probably died in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana Territory, USA, before 15 February 1813, when she was mentioned in a son's marriage record as deceased.[3]
