Biography

Thomas Snow was born about 1815 in Rhea County, Tennessee. He was a son of John Snow Sr. (abt.1780-1845), and his wife Elizabeth (Lowery) Snow (abt.1786-1866). Elizabeth was from South Carolina.

Thomas Snow married Unknown - related to the Sisemore and McCarver families, her identity still unknown. Child: 'Eliza' Snow, 1834.

Thomas Snow married Rebecca, b. ca. 1815 in Tennessee. Family genealogies state her name was Rebecca Jane Rogers (ca. 1819-1896). ^[1] They married about 1835 in Rhea County, Tennessee. They settled on a small family farm in Ogden, Rhea County, Tennessee. Thomas and Rebecca Snow raised 11 children:

In 1847, after the death of Thomas' father, John Snow Sr. (abt.1780-1845), Thomas and Rebecca Snow and their children moved west from Tennessee across the Mississippi River to the state of Arkansas. Several other related Snow families moved with them. They settled in Osage Township, Carroll County, Arkansas, where they lived the rest of their lives. The 1850 US Census recorded Thomas Snow, b: 1817 in Tennessee, and his family in Osage Township, Carroll County, Arkansas, USA:^[2] Thomas Snow, b: ca. 1815 in Tennessee, and his family were also living there in 1860:^[3]

Thomas Snow died in Osage, Carroll County, Arkansas, Confederate States of America, on December 9, 1864. His burial site is not known. His wife, Rebecca J. (Rogers) Snow, survived his passing. She remarried in 1878 and lived until January 1896, when she died in Osage Township, Carroll County, Arkansas. She does not have a Find A Grave memorial.
