Hi Howard,

I have a new theory. I think Edmund was the son of James and Elizabeth Waldrop. Here's the whole thing if you're interested: https://genealogical-gleanings.blogspot.com/2024/01/a-genealogical-study-of-edmund-waldrop.html

It seems to me Edmund is likely a son of Michael (d.1807), who was the only one of his brothers to remain in Laurens County, where Edmund first appears in 1801. We also know via census records that Michael had an undocumented son in the right age range to be Edmund.

I have no evidence of a middle name for Edmond.

There is no evidence that Edmond was a son of Luke jr. Thus, making him a nephew of Jechonias.

If Edmond is a son of Luke jr, that makes him a first cousin of his second wife. Assuming, of course, that the Luke in Rutherford is a brother of Jechonias. The easiest line to take is that he is. But, the issue is in doubt about that.
