Walter Stewart (3rd Lord Blantyre) was born c. 1615 in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son of Sir William Stewart (2nd Lord Blantyre) and his wife Helen Scott(1588-1640).
He succeeded to the title of 3rd Lord Blantyre [S., 1606] on 29 November 1638.
He died in 1641.

Walter Stewart (3rd Lord Blantyre) was married to Marie Mure, daughter of Sir William Mure (of Rowallan) and his wife Sara Brisbane.[1]
