She was the 2nd daughter of Elizabeth Wade and John Bacon 'The Elder' RA, eminent British sculptor.
In 1799 her father died and she inherited an eighth share of his estate which was valued at £60,000 and divided equally among her siblings.
From 1805-9 she was her elder sister, Ann's constant carer in her final illness.
