Biography

"Judique Guedery" was born in 1722. She was the daughter of Paul Guidry and Anne d'Entremont. [1] In 1722, in early summer, Paul was captured by the English with his brothers Claude, Philippe and Augustin, and apparently their families. This along the east coast of Acadia during Drummer's War. They were first sent to New Hampshire, then later to Boston and finally released in the fall of 1723. At least two children, Augustin and Jeanne's child Marie Josephe, and Paul and Anne's child Judith, were born in Boston.

When she was 16, she married Jean Cousin, age 21, son of Gui Cousin and Charlotte M____ 12 Nov 1737 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia.[2][3][4] Their marriage was registered at Grand Pré, while Jean and Judith lived in Merligueche, Acadie.

In April 1752, a French official counted them at Baie-des-Espagnols, Île Royale, today's Cape Breton Island. The census taker noted that Jean was age 35, that his wife, age 30, was a "native of Boston," and that "They have settled in the Colony for two years and have rations for that time." [5][6][7]

Thank you! :-) I have been trying to connect all unconnected Guidrys, haha. There are only a couple left now (that are on the same branch) but it's not an easy one! 😅
