Private Silas Beardsley served with 7th Connecticut Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Silas was born in 1761. He was the son of John Beardsley and Joanna Fairchild. He passed away in 1820. He married Catherine Treadwell 14 May 1789. "Moved to Stevensville, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, 1794. His neck was broken in a fall from a load of hay in 1820. Clothier and farmer. His eldest daughter taught the first school ever taught on Apolacon Creek, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, and was the first person married in the town." Silas and Catherine were the parents of eight children: Eunice, William, Mehitabel, Joanna, Sarah, Catherine, Silas and John.[1][2]
