Biography

Thomas Leland, son of Thomas and Margaret (Wood) Leland, was born on 20 March 1756 at Sutton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.[1]

He married Anna B. Rawson about 1778.[1]

Thomas died on 19 Oct. 1847 at Medina County, Ohio and was buried at Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville, Medina County, Ohio. His memorial has a large collection of historical material and links to those of family members.[1]

Revolutionary War Service

"LELAND, THOMAS, (Medina Co.) [41.01080 -81.85390] Born on March 20, 1756 or 1757 Sutton, Massachusetts to Parents: Thomas and Margaret (Wood) Leland of Grafton, Mass. He served as a Pvt and Corp Thomas Leland of Sutton (also given Grafton, his father's residence), served as a Pvt in Capt John Putnam's Company, Col Larned's Regt. and marched in response to the Alarm of Apr 19, 1775....Married Anna Bass Rawson of Braintree and Grafton, 1778. Children: Anna (br 1779); Margaret (1780); Silence (1782); Lydia (1784); Polly (1786); Thomas (1788) Aaron (1789); Otis (1791); Hollis (1793); Ansel (1796); John T. (1798); Lois (1800): Albert (1803); Sophia (1805). He Died on October 19, 1847 Guilford Twp, Medina Co, OH: 1849 and Buried at Mound Hill Cemetery, East Main Street, Seville, Medina Co, OH 44273. "
