Biography

Robert William Hepburn was born on 28 January 1872 in the Parish of St. Dorothy, Jamaica, the son of Mary Ann Roy and William Hepburn.[1]

He was a captain in the Royal Navy.[1] He was employed in the suppression of smuggling in the German Ocean.[2]

He married Jacobina Hosie on 19 May 1805 at South Leith, Midlothian, Scotland.[1] Their children were:[1]

Robert migrated from Scotland to Tasmania, Australia on the "Greenock", departing in 1827, arriving 24th January, 1828, with his wife and eight children.[1] [3][4][5]

He died on 7 February 1866 in Tasmania.[1]
