Calvin F. Snow was the first-born son of Calvin Snow and his wife Bathsheba (Parmenter) Snow. He was born on their farm near Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.

Along with his parents, Calvin F. Snow moved from Massachusetts west during the 1830s. They stopped a while in Ohio, where at least 2 of his younger siblings were born, then homesteaded a large farm in Mendon Township, St. Joseph County, Michigan.

The 1850 US Census records that "Maria F. Snow," age 19, born in New York, and "Calvin F. Snow," age 28, born in Massachusetts, were married and living in Mendon Twp., St. Joseph Co., Michigan, USA as of June 1, 1850. They had no children then. Their farm was next-door to Calvin F. Snow's father's household.^[1]

Calvin and Maria (Hess) Snow had a daughter:

Alice Laura Snow, born November 1852, in Mendon Twp., St. Joseph County, Michigan.^[2]

Unfortunately, a year later, Calvin F. Snow died - whether of an sudden illness or an accident, the record doesn't say. He was only 31 years old when he died on October 2, 1853. His father followed him to the grave just 2 weeks later, on October 18. They were buried in the Scott Cemetery, Mendon, St. Josephs, Michigan.^[3]

Calvin F. Snow's wife survived his passing. She remarried to Jesse Huff on November 15, 1863, and had 2 more daughters by him. She continued to live in St. Joseph County, Michigan, for the rest of her life, until she passed away on October 21, 1917, no doubt at her daughter's home in Park Township, St. Joseph County, Michigan. She was buried in the Mendon Township Cemetery, Mendon, St. Joseph County, Michigan, USA, near her last husband, Jesse Huff (whose exact death date is unknown).^[4]

Calvin F. Snow's daughter, Laura Alice Snow, married Lewis Fehr on May 4, 1871 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She died on Nov. 2, 1928, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was buried in the Scott Cemetery, Mendon Twp., Michigan, near her father.^[5]
