You've been here for three weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

PS. Looks like you had to do some merging. Would you edit your profile to remove the duplicate headings that start with =
As you work through your family tree profiles, you might want to consider adding additional sources to these profiles. Linking to a family tree on Ancestry.com is not a recommended source. You should consider adding birth, death, marriage, Census, etc., sources.
For details on how to add, edit and find sources, see: Sources and the Sources Style Guide. To get you started, you can also check this collection of sources for some ideas on where to search for information about your ancestors.

Thanks for joining us! Im David, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
Did you have fun learning your way around WikiTree yesterday?
I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

Thanks for filling out your tags!
You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum. This week's question is: Do you have any heroic volunteers in your branch?
Dorothy B.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as one collaborative team!!
What brings you to us? Do you have research youd like to share? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests with your tags.
If your not sure about tags, add one for a surname your interested in and then maybe a country or state. Tell us why the tags you chose are important to you. Don't forget to click on the "volunteer" button.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Dorothy B, Wikitree Greeter
