Hi Ronald

Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

We also have a Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Hi Ronald,

How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information." A source provides a way to find out more about the person. Showing sources reduces confusion and duplicates.

Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

The Sources Style Guide shows how to enter sources in the biography.

A free and very good website to find sources for your family/ancestors is Family Search.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi Ronald,

Thank you for the message and question(s)!

You can add your wife's profile and then invite her to join then you both can work on adding your family. Just click the privacy tab on your wife;s profile enter her e mail address and a invitation to join will be sent to her. Also after she joins you may want to have her add you to the trusted list on her profile so you also can edit her profile.
