I believe you are right also. All the research I did - I kept finding Chesley Joel or Joel born 1727 or 1730. And this profile fits *that* guy. But I believe this Joel (Coffey-3045) is the brother of Rev James and Elizabeth. Both James and Chesley (Coffey-3045) would be the sons of (also) John and Jean Coffey.
What makes this all confusing is that Rev. James and Elizabeth did also have a son named Joel (or Chesley Joel). This Joel (Coffey-3045) (who I believe is Chesley Joel, not just Joel) also had a son named Joel.
I collected a bunch of info with sources - if anyone is interested in sussing this out.
Can you share the sources that you have collected to explain which Joel is which? I was just making a formatting edit detected by the Bio Check tool and was told that Joel was too young to be James’s son.
Sorry, I was so slow to reply to this. I was going to happily go to my FTM program and gather up the info for you - but it turns out I never added this branch - because I'm not certain it's mine? Maybe? What I do remember was a bleary night looking through the search engines provided here on Wikitree. I believe it's called RootsSearch. Let me find a link and be prepared to have the ID already memorized or in copy mode to paste when you get to the page: https://apps.wikitree.com/apps/york1423/rootssearch/index.html
I'm really sorry, in retrospect I wish I had saved it all but since I wasn't going to add this guy...Sure would like to find more "sure" info for my branch though...and pictures...always with the pictures. :-)

I agree with your below remarks. I would be interested in looking over your info with sources. I'm a sixth great grandson of Joel.
