Biography
1st Lieutenant Pelatiah Fitch I served with New York Militia during the American Revolution.
Pelatiah Fitch I is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A040006.
Dr. Pelatiah Fitch I performed Patriotic Service in New York in the American Revolution.
Pelatiah was the son of Jabez & Ann (Knowlton) Fitch, born at Norwich, CT
He married Elizabeth Burrows on 17 Sep 1744 at Norwich, New London, CT
Their children were Josephus, Chester (died in West Indes), Pelatiah, Elisha, Lurene, Lydia, Benjamin, Asa & Elizabeth
He was a Physician in Norwich for 28 years before moving to Groton, MA and then on to VT, and first Judge of Cumberland, CO., NY (now Windsor & Windham Counties, VT) & Commissioner for Detecting Conspiracies.
He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Salem, Washington, NY
