Gershom(6) Bulkley was born 20 Oct 1789 in Fairfield, Ct., (Gershom 5, Peter 4, Gershom 3, Peter 2, Peter1 considered patriarch the American Bulkley lineage)

Gershom(6) is the son of Gershom(5) Bulkeley-529 and Elizabeth Chapman Chapman-8389 Gershom(6) is the grandson of Peter(4) Bulkley, Bulkeley-480

The Bulkley family is associated with shipping and sea trade in Port Chester, New York. Many Bulkley family members were christened or married at Christs Church in Rye, New York, and are interred at Greenwood Cemetery, Rye, New York.

It is possible that Gershom is interred at either Oak Lawn Cemetery or Greefield Hill Cemetery, both in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The Bulkley family in Rye is descended from the Fairfield line.

"Charles" is "Charles Seymour, a successful engineer". No DoB is given for Charles or Edward in this source. "Gilbert" is named "Gilbert Brush", but the Bush surname is often given this way, in error.

Willson D. Slawson was born abt. 1814, son of Jesse Slawson (b. 20 Feb 1765, d.1838) and Susannah Willson (b. 20 Jul 1769 in Rye). They married 1813 at New York. He was their only child. [1]

Of particular interest is one Justus Robbins Bulkley, b.15 Jun 1813, d. 30 Dec 1862, son of Edmund and Nancy Robbins Bulkley - probably named after Justus Bush. [2]
