Giles Church of Amherst was a soldier during the Revolutionary War, serving as a Private in Capt. Reuben Dickinson's company, Col. Benjamin Ruggles Woodbridge's regiment in 1775, and in Capt. Reuben Dickinson's company, Col. Elisha Porter's regiment 1777-1778. [1] [2] [3]
