Sarah Parker Remond was an American lecturer, activist and abolitionist.[1]
Sarah Parker Redmond was born free in 1826 in Massachusetts. She was the daughter of John Remond and Nancy Lenox, and the sister of abolitionists orator Charles Lenox Remond.
While lecturing abroad, she studied at Bedford College for Women in London. She studied medicine at the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital in Florence, Italy. Upon graduation, she practiced medicine in Florence for more than 20 years.
In 1877, she married an Italian office worker, Lazzaro Pintor.
Dr. Parker died in 1894 and is buried at Campo Cestio in Rome, Italy.[2]
