Amelia "Emily" or "Em" Mary Petzolt, daughter of Johann Karl August Petzolt and Amelia Henrietta (Dehmel) Petzolt, born in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, 6 March 1887; died at the home of her daughter, 148 Dorset Ave., Albertson, Nassau County, New York, 3 October 1958, age 71; buried Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Stamford; Episcopalian; home maker; married about 1924, Gustav Verner Wrangen. Head of household August Petzolt, age 60, married 32 years, born Germany, immigrated 1880, naturalized citizen, laborer bronze shop; wife Amelia, age 56, married 32 years, born Germany, immigrated 1880; daughter Amelia, age 23, born Connecticut, laborer lock shop; daughter Selma, age 21, born Connecticut, laborer lock shop; daughter Fredda, age 17, born Connecticut, laborer lock shop; daughter Bella, age 15, born Connecticut.[2]

1913. As time went on, the electric refrigerator made the ice company obsolete. You did not need to have the ice delivered. You could make your own at home. The first “Domestic Electric Refrigerator” was marketed in Chicago in 1913. The Heart of New England.
1918. The flush toilet gains in popularity in the United States after World War I, when American troops came home from England full of talk about a "mighty slick invention called the crapper." 1924, Dec 1. Birth of daughter Virginia Matilda Wrangen in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

1926. The Bridgeport Directory has the Wrangens, removed to Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey.[7]

1926, Apr 13. Birth of daughter Viola Eugenia Wrangen in Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey. Viloa died 5 May 1926 in Plainfield.

1927, Aug 25. Birth of son Verner Eugene Warde Wrangen in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.

1942, Apr 25. Death of husband Gustav Verner Wrangen in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

1948. Full-scale commercial television broadcasting. "Four television networks, (NBC, CBS, ABC, and DuMont), broadcasting over 128 stations, begin a full prime-time schedule (8 to 11pm, Eastern Time), seven days a week." Television in the US: History and Production.

1958, Oct 3. Death of Amelia Mary (Petzolt) Wrangen in Albertson, Nassau County, New York. Emily was buried next to her parents in Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut on 6 October 1958.[4][5]

Mrs. Emily Wrangen, a former Stamford resident, died today in Long Island. The widow of Gustav Wrangen, she is survived by two sons Warde and William Wrangen; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Van Cleef and Mrs. Evelyn Scanlon; two brothers, Carl and William Petzolt; three sisters, Mrs. Frieda Haviland, Mrs. Belle Anderson and Mrs. Selma Nelson; and wight grandchildren. Services will be at the Fairfield Chapel, Franklin Ave., Garden City, L.I., on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Emmanuel Church Cemetery in Springdale.
Died. WRANGEN -- Emily, Friday, October 3rd, 1958, at the home of her daughter, 148 Dorset Ave., Albertson, L.I., formerly of Stamford. Beloved wife of the late Gustav Wrangen and devoted mother of Warde and William Wrangen, Virginia Van Cleef and Evelyn Scanlon and sister of Frieda Haviland, Belle Anderson. Selma Nelson, Carl and William Petzolt, also survived by 8 grandchildren. Service at the Fairchild Chapel, Franklin Ave. at 12th St., Garden City, L.I. on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment Emmanuel Church Cemetery, Springdale, Conn., Monday at 1 p.m.[8]
