I was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA on 17 Nov. 1950. I was born and raised in Manchester. In 1968 I began attending the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and in 1971 made Bridgeport my permanent residence. I was elected to the Bridgeport Common Council in 1983, and re-elected in 1985, but resigned due to the relocation of my job and household.
I worked in New York City from 1977 to mid-1987. In June 1987 I took up residence in Pittsburgh, PA, where I still live.
In early 2006 I took early retirement from my job of almost 29 years in order to complete a Ph.D. in history. I received my doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. Since then I have worked as a part-time university lecturer in history.
