MANSET and LAMOINE Mildred O. Hill, 93, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Honolulu, the daughter of Henry C. and Olga (Willing) Dolliver. She arrived in this country at the age of two and resided in Manset until October 2005, when she moved to Lamoine to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Mildred was well known for her delicious molasses cookies, her knitted mittens and afghans. These will be greatly missed, especially by her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Stanek and husband, Howard, of East Jordan, Mich. and Irene Leighton and husband, Linwood, of Southwest Harbor; a son, Gerald Hill and wife, Margaret, of Lamoine; daughter-in-law, Elaine Hill of Milbridge; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Carle-ton P. Hill; her husband, Carleton E. Hill; one sister, Alice Robinson; three brothers, Richard, Robert and James Dolliver. Graveside services are to be held at Mount Height Cemetery at the convenience of the family. (Bangor Daily News 6/21/2006)
