Frederick Oyer served with New York Militia during the American Revolution.
Frederick Oyer is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A004085.
Frederick Oyer was Killed in Action during American Revolution.
Frederick Oyer was born in Germany, and led a colony of settlers to New York's Mohawk Valley. He was married to Elisabeth Mader. Elisabeth gave birth to Johannes Finster Jr. in April 1760, stating that Johannes Finster was the father, then married Johann Friedrich Ayrer (Later known as Frederick Oyer). Frederick always treated John Finster (as he preferred to be known) as a beloved son. They served together at the Battle of Oriskany 06 Aug 1777, where Frederick was killed.
Notes
The alternate spellings "Eyerer, Ayer" also appear for this person, and are not errors. 18th Century spelling often seems to have been an exercise in creativity.

Just added him to the Killed in Action Roll of Honor. Wish there were a 13-star flag image to use there, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to create that!
