My grandfather, Percy LUXFORD 1893-1972 Great GG William LUXFORD 1864- 1947 GGG Thomas LUXFORD 1840-1897 GGGG William LUXFORD. 1809-1893 (our amazing convict ancestor) Early pioneers / settlers in the New England district, NSW, Australia.
GGGGG John LUXFORD b 1775 John Luxford & his wife experienced the terrible shock after their son William Luxford b 1809, was convicted of a petty crime (stealing a small Oak sapling) from a Lord’s property) and was sentenced in the Old Bailey & transported to the penal colony for 7 years - across the other side of the world - Sydney, NSW Australia. It was near impossible for him or any of the other transported convicts to ever return to England.
