Biography
Joseph was born in 1732. [1]
On 12 Feb 1759 he married Margaret Bliss in Rehoboth.[1][2]
He does not seem to have removed to Nova Scotia with his father and brothers. He does not appear on the 1770 or 1771 census with them in Sackville, Nova Scotia. And all of his children appear to have been born in Rehoboth, include the youngest who was born 27 Sep 1783 per Arnold.
Joseph Emerson served in the Rehoboth militia during the Revolutionary War: for 11 days on the alarm of 8 Dec 1776 and for 9 days on the alarm of 1 Aug 1780. [3]

Death On 2 Nov 1784 his estate was put into administration for being "insolvent". [son?] John Emerson Cooper, Daniel Carpenter Esq, Ebenezer Peck Yeoman all of Rehoboth to administer estate. Personal estate £48-6-9; real estate (between 20-30 acres of land and house) £135, presented to justice of the peace 20 May 1784. [4]
He passed away about 1784.
