Biography

BIRTH: Her father announced her birth in a letter to his mother on 27 February 1865: "Und die Familie hat sich auch wieder um eins vermehrt, nämlich um eine kleine Klara, welche jetzt ungefähr 2 Monate alt ist und ein recht liebes Kind ist." - Translation: "And the family has also increased by one, namely by a little Klara, who is now about 2 months old and quite a sweet child."

Her mothers obituary from July 1892 refers to her as "Miss Clara Guth, Brookville", so she was unmarried then.^[1]

In 1905 she apparently was the priest's house-keeper in Clarion.^[2]

Research notes

James Wirth writes in the biography section of her FamilySearch profile, that she could be the Clara Guth who died at the Warren State Insane Asylum in Conewango Twp., Warren Co., PA. But there is some confusion about this."^[3]

What corresponds to this theory is the gravestone of a Clara Guth, who is said to have lived from 1864 to 1940. She is buried at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Clarion, just like her parents.^[4]
