My mother was a Hixon from Hunterdon county NJ, where I grew up. I'm trying to find a link with William Hixson. I can trace our ancestry to a Andrew Hixon, born about 1812 in Warren county, NJ, which is next to Hunterdon county. Do you know of any links? Thank you. Sincerely, Ed Fleming
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Our approach is to have only one profile per person. So it's important that you search for an existing profile before making one from those earlier timeframes. You've probably already seen merge proposals for a number of duplicates you created. The best way to find a duplicate is to search for an existing profile before ever starting to make a new one. Here are some instructions with visuals to help make that easier for you. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:How_to_Search_for_Existing_Profiles
If you need any help (on anything) please don't hesitate to ask. We love finding Acadian cousins! Cindy Bourque Cooper, co-leader Acadian project.
We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
