COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Clarsie Deering, 89, of Cookeville will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at the funeral home. Mrs. Deering died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at White County Hospital. She was born May 23, 1915, in White County to the late Edd and Odie McCulley Cash. Mrs. Deering was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Her family includes a daughter, Willease Carter of White County; a son, Hershell Lee (Bud) Deering of Overton County; two brothers, Joe Edd and Bobby Cash of White County; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and five greatgreatgrandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Deering; three sisters, Myrtle Selby, Minnie Martin and Leah Isom; and two brothers, Jim and Hershell Cash.
