Not the daughter of Henry Flint, or widow of John Dassett: According to the Descendants of John Dwight, Anna Flint who married Timothy Dwight in Dedham in 1664 was the daughter of Henry and Margery (Hoare) Flynt of Braintree, AND the widow of John Dassett Jr. (abt.1637-). This identification has been often repeated but is unsupported by the evidence. John Dassett did not die until 1699, and the births of John and Hannah (Flynt) Dassett's children are recorded in the records of Braintree during the time she was supposedly married to Dwight. In addition, the Dedham marriage record for Timothy Dwight is to Anna Flint, not Anna Dassett ["Tymo. Dwight, & Ana Flint was married 9:11, 1664"]. So either Timothy's wife was the widow of a Mr. Flint, or Flint was her name at birth.
Anna was born about 1644 (assuming age 20 at marriage). She married Timothy Dwight (1629-1718) as his third wife 9 January 1663/4 at Dedham.[1] She died in Dedham, 29 January 1685.[2] She was the mother of ten of his fourteen children.
While the names Hannah and Anna were treated as variations of the same name, it should be noted that the wife of Timothy Dwight was consistently referred to as An, Ana or Anna, while the wife of John Dasset was consistently Hanna[h]
