William was born in 1804 in North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Thomas Williams and Sarah Ward. He passed away in 1858 in North Carolina, United States. William was buried at the Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery in Graham County, North Carolina, United States.

William married Triphena Millsaps on 18 May 1824 in Blount County, Tennessee.(License issued 15 May 1824.)[1]
