Hi Teri,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Debi

Lowe-1717 and Lowe-1799 appear to represent the same person because: Sorry, Catherine, I didn't realize that you had set up a profile for me. Let's merge them and then, I think, we'll be done!

Thanks,

Teri

Teri, my maiden name is Lowe also - I see we must be fifth cousins! I connected your great-grandfather Finley Lowe to his father, which will connect you to the 6.7 million connected profiles on our global family tree as soon as the WikiTree servers catch up.

Do you need a hand learning to add sources to your profiles? It's great to have you here!

- Karen

p.s. I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process that you might find helpful. Also, about 'Importing a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Thanks for the message, and yes - lots to explore here. Don't hesitate to use the G2G forum to summon assistance if you are stumped on something.

I've been working on expanding the NC folks to include cousins of cousins and in-laws, etc. Maybe we'll find a common branch  :D

Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, Patt
