Another possibility is that our Silas does have another biological father...it did happen where dates are off, and all documentation indicates that a person could not be the father of a child, yet the court and community accepted that the child was a legitimate heir and offspring of that person...and at this late date, without anything else, we would never know the father. I have one gal whose husband was a POW and died there, yet she had another child while he was imprisoned..hmm Did she travel from rural WV to Maryland and have a conjugal visit? It is possible but not probable...LOL, but for all intents and purposes, the child is documented as the deceased and accepted by the community as thus even though it may not have been. Just a thought.

Everything that I have found for Silas, and William indicates that William died the same year as Silas was born...If you note the baptism record for Silas and siblings...he is listed there and indicates yer man is dead...I knew he hooked into them, and I have neglected documentation for the line...but if you look up Patty Shipman Sheldon, that gal is hanging in my living room and is buried in the family cemetery about 15 minute from me, so the Shipman's are dear to my heart...been around a long time...  :)

Thanks for your questions. One thing you'll need to do before you submit your GEDCOM for review is skip anyone who doesn't have a birth or death date. This is easy to do if you sort by "Birth", it will show them all listed first. As for duplicates, if you see any in your GEDCOM file, you can skip whichever of the duplicates you want so that only one version of the individual gets processed. Discrepancies, unless they big ones, can probably be corrected once the GEDCOM is processed and the profiles are created. Otherwise, you'd need to correct them elsewhere and then create a new GEDCOM.

Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual.
