Amanda, thanks for your kind note! Do let me know if you find that we're related. : )
Have you thought of using the Private with Public Family Tree setting so that we might see how we connect? It's especially helpful for those of us who have DNA tests.
Amanda, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add
{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}
to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.
It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:
Hello Amanda, welcome to WikiTree. We are happy you joined us. I know you will enjoy building your tree on here. Let us know if you have any questions.
Hi Amanda, Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
I am glad to hear you found us at RootsTech. We had a blast meeting folks like you. Be sure to use the G2G forum to ask questions or contact us directly if you need assistance.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. We are building one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to check for duplicates as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
I found out about this site by visiting your booth at RootsTech 2015. I am home now and couldn't wait to contribute my family information and explore all that WikiTree has to offer. I love the idea of an honor code and can't wait to be helpful!
Please keep in mind that our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Thank you for taking the time to go through your gedmatches.
