Biography

Clarecy Elizabeth Armstrong was born on January 26, 1858, in Shelby County, Alabama. Clarecy is the daughter of William Armstrong and Louisa Seale.

Clarecy married at age 13, Jessie Stone on the 22nd of December, 1866, in Shelby County, Alabama.

Clarecy appears in the 1870 Federal Census in Shelby County, Alabama, in the household of her husband Jesse Stone.

Clarecy appears in the 1880 Federal Census in Shelby County, Alabama, in the household of her husband Jesse Stone.

Clarecy appears in the 1900 Federal Census in Shelby County, Alabama, in the household of her husband Jesse Stone. In the 1900 census Clarecy is listed as being the mother of 14 children with 9 children living. Only the names of 10 children are known.

Clarecy and Jesse were the parents of ten (10) children who survived beyond infancy: William Stone; James Henry Stone; Martha Stone Spearman; James Stone; Riley Stone; Mary Stone; Lenora Stone; Alma Stone Stamps; Bertha Stone; and Pickens Stone.

Stone, Clarecy's son and sister, drove from Shelby County, Alabama to Sherman, Texas after Jesse Stone's death. Clarecy returned with her son and sister to Shelby County, Alabama to live with her son, James Henry Stone.

Clarecy appears in the 1930 Federal Census in Shelby County, Alabama, in the household of her son, James Henry Stone, living near Harpersville, Alabama.

Clarecy passed away on December 28, 1930, near Harpersville, in Shelby County, Alabama, at the home of her son James Henry Stone.
