Arnold-6226 and Arnold-3279 do not represent the same person because: These are obviously not the same people.

I just realized that the bio had gotten all bungled up in these merges, as well, so I put it back together w/out detritus.

Problematic is that James is listed as the father of some of the Potter children. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Potter-4412 is the correct John Potter, the other one is based on an erroneous unsourced book, as is mentioned in the footnotes for 4412. I'm the manager of 4412, I approve connecting his children to him. :) I hope the profile managers of the other profiles will also help sort this out. :) Cheers.

Unmerging isn't a thing... managers can disconnect James by removing him as a spouse. My vote is for that. :)

Phebe Arnold was married to Benjamin Greene and m2 to John Potter; but Phebe was NOT married to James Potter. I think this merge was of two different people. How do we we unmerge?

(This) Phebe Arnold wasn't married to James Potter. Did we suffer an unfortunate merge?

Are we sure Arnold-3279 and Arnold-9427 are the same person? Dates of birth and death are close but don't match. Place of birth doesn't match. Arnold-9427 doesn't mention parents or spouses. The only detail that matches is place of death. Has anyone found another Phebe (or Phoebe) in this time period, especially one born at Warwick, Rhode Island?

Arnold-3279 and Arnold-9427 appear to represent the same person because: Seem to be the same person, what do you think?

Carolyn.

I understand that Phoebe is the traditional spelling. However, is there a source that suggests she spelled her name that way? And there are a substantial number of sources cited here.

And no one has suggested that everyone with the same name be merged. We're just trying to get the information correct.

If you see a specific problem with something being done, please point that out and cite your source. No one wants to get this wrong.
