Marriage
At age 16, Madeleine Aubert married François Hamelin, age 27, son of Nicolas Hamelin and Jeanne Levavasseur, on 27 Nov 1685 in Grondines, Canada, Nouvelle-France (contract notary Roy-Châtellerault).^[2] The wedding took place on 27 Nov 1685 in Grondines as mentioned by the PRDH and not in 1687. On 9 Feb 1687 in the presence of the notary Michel Roy dit Châtellerault, François Hamelin and Madeleine Aubert sign the clauses of their marriage contract where it is indicated that they had received the sacrament of marriage on 27 Nov 1685 without entering into a contract, for lack of of notary.
