Research Notes

There are two Lucretia's that are easily confused because the are both descended from Sarah (Smith) Olmsted (1723-1781) and Nathan Olmsted Sr. (1717-1805).

Where this gets more confusing is:

  1. Find A Grave: Memorial #15501034 Memorial for Lucretia Olmsted Soule gives her birth as 9 Dec 1795 and death as 10 Oct 1877 (aged 81). Notes indicate Daughter of Timothy Olmsted (1767-1845) and Huldah Sanford (1770-1817) and Lucretia Olmsted (1795-1877) married to Hiram Soule (1790-1847). Also FamilySearch Person: LC7L-S83 shows Lucretia Omsted born to Timothy Olmsted and Hulda Wells Sanford, married to Hiram Barlow Soule.
  2. Find A Grave: Memorial #19757982 Memorial for Lucretia S Babcock Wheeler gives her birth as 9 Dec 1795 and death as 14 Sep 1864 (aged 68). Notes indicate Born twin to Clara Olmsted on 9 December 1795, Died at West Berskhire Vt at the age of 36 yrs, and Lucretia S Babcock (wife of Augustus C Wheeler). Also FamilySearch Person: LC57-D8B shows Lucretia Olmsted (1795-1864) born to Timothy Olmsted and Huldah Wells Sanford, married to Augustus Choto Wheeler.

So, the challenge is to figure out which Find A Grave memorial is correct (or are they both?). And FamilySearch needs some straightening-out.
