Jane Margaret Bailly was born June 7, 1753 during the night, following the landing in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia of the first families who settled there.
She was the first child born of the original Lunenburg settlers who numbered 1,453 souls and represented 409 families.
The settlers were transported to the Lunenburg site via 14 transports plus the provincial sloop "York" and came ashore at "Rous Brook".
