When George's regiment was sent to India, Egbertha was left behind with a half aunt Mrs Fisher. George was killed at the battle of Laswari on the 1 Nov 1803.
Egbertha married again 11 August 1804 at Cawnpore, Major James Menzies of the 22nd Regiment. She died in London, England 31 July 1866.[2]

She was buried on the 6th of August 1866 in All Souls Cemetery, London .
In the Gentlemans Magazine of 31 July 1886 under deaths was the following; Aged 89 Elizabeth Menzies, Relict of the late Major Menzies of Cheshire, Perthshire.
