Biography
Rachel was the daughter of Aaron and Margaret (Penrod) Berkebile. When her aunt Sarah (Berkebile) Clark became ill and needed help with the housework, Rachel came to live with John Allen and Sarah Clark. After Sarah's death, John Allen Clark married Rachel. Therefore Rachel's step-children were also her first cousins. She was beloved by her step-children. John Allen & Rachel Clark were baptized by Rev. J. T. Coss on Oct. 14, 1896 and thus became members of the Hooversville Christian Church. Rachel is buried beside her husband in P. O. S. of A. Cemetery near Hooversville, Somerset County, PA.
