Catherine Bowie was born in 1747 in Port Royal, Caroline, Colony of Virginia, daughter of John Bowie (~1725–~1789) and Judith Catlett ( –1798).
Catherine (17) married James Pendleton (29) (born about 1735 in Virginia; son of James Pendleton and Elizabeth (Coleman) Pendleton) in 1765 in Virginia. [1]Their children were:

Catherine died in 1795 in Culpeper Co. Virginia, aged 47. She was buried in Hare Forest Cemetery, Caroline County, Virginia.[2]
