Thomas.............................. born June the 18th 1731."
He married Sarah Lindsey on May 17, 1770 [3], in North Carolina. They had ten children in 15 years. Thomas L Brazier may have been married twice. There is quite a gap between the first two children and the last five. Since the first group of children claimed Cherokee ancestry long before it was profitable to do so we think he may have married, 1. a Cherokee maiden. [4]
On 23 Oct 1782, Thomas Brazier received NC Land Grant #596, 300 acres on the N fork of Terrell's Creek in Chatham Co., joining Joseph Gillan, and Requiring a fee of 50 shillings per 100 acres. The Chatham Co Survey Certificate for this grant was dated 18 Nov 1779.
When he arrived in the Greenville area about 1785, Thomas L Brazier bought for F110 a 500 acre parcel of land lying on both sides of Cripple Creek of Reedy River near the head of said Creek being part of a tract originally granted to James White (also spelled ight and Whight). [5]
He died in 1789 in Greenville County, South Carolina, at the age of 58.

Thomas Brasher, Gender Male, Birth Place MD, Birth Year 1731
Spouse Name Sarah Custace
↑ "In his will and the 1790 Census his widow's name is Sarah: we think from circumstances that she is Sarah Lindsey. Several family sheets in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City claim her name was Sarah Custace but we have found no documentation and note that his mother's name was Sarah Constance; perhaps Custace is a copist's error."
↑ Greenville Co SC deeds Bk A p148 dated 18 Feb 1788; Wits Kerner Hutson and Thomas Brasher, probably a nephew since Thomas L's son Thomas III signed deeds with an O in that period.
Marriage 13 OCT 1726. Baltimore, Maryland, United States.
