Biography

Martha Bromley, daughter of Grace (Harris) Bromley (abt.1755-) and Asa Bromley (1746-) of Lockport, New York, became the first wife of Thaddeus Alvord. They had at least 5, perhaps 7 children.

Per the only reference source yet available, Martha (Bromley) Alvord died about 1810. In view of the date of Thaddeus's second marriage (1 Dec 1814), and the births of two of his children in 1812, probably Martha died sometime between those dates.

Note: Thaddeus Alvord removed to Waterford, Michigan in 1823. Before that he and his family resided in or near Lockport, New York, so the location of Martha's death probably was there, not in Michigan.
