Josephine Broussard is a descendant of an Acadian

Josephine Broussard, daughter of Joseph Rene Broussard and Constance LeBlanc, was born 20 April 1801 in St. Martin Parish, and christened 14 June 1801 St. Martinville, Louisiana.^[1] (She was born in what is now St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, but the civil parish was not established until 1811, when the division of Attakapas Parish created St. Martin Parish and St. Mary Parish.^[2] Not long before her birth, Louisiana had been transferred by treaty back to France from Spain, and would soon be sold by France to the United States.)

Josephine married Rosemond Broussard on 22 September 1818 in St. Martinville, Louisiana.^[3]
