Elizabeth was born in 1782. She is the daughter of James Brown and Mary Marr. Elizabeth Brown was born on 24 October 1782 in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James Brown and Mary Marr. She died on 22 October 1887 in Princeville, Illinois, two days short of her 105th birthday. She was buried on 25 October 1887 at Princeville, Illinois. She married first, Calvin Grant in 1802*. Family history says that Calvin was uncle to General Ulysses Grant. She had two children by this marriage, Hannah and John. Leonard and Elizabeth married in 1806 in Markham twp., York Co., Ontario. After they married, they lived on land on the east side of Markham twp., York Co., Ontario. In 1847 they moved to Troy, New York. In 1849 they moved to Princeville, Illinois.

- OBITUARY: 'A LONG LIFE An Old Lady Dies at the Age of 105 Died October 22, A.D. 1887 The oldest lady in the State of Illinois, who was also the grandmother of Dr. G. W. Emery, of this city, died last Saturday. Her name was Elizabeth Brown Grant Klinck, and when she died she was within two days of being 105 years old. She was born October 24, 1782, at Upper Mount Bethel, Pa., the same year in which the British Parliament voted to stop the war against the Colonies. She was 7 years old when the first Congress under the constitution, with Washington as president, met. She was 15 when Napoleon entered upon his career of conquest, and had passed 30 when he died at St. Helena. Within the space of her lifetime the great inventions of the day were made and developed, and this country has increased from 3,000,000 to 60,000,000 people. The day before her death she took a long walk, and on the morning of the day on which she died she made her own bed. Her mind was clear and she could tell experiences and describe a whole century of events. Both of her parents lived to be more than 90 years of age, and a brother 87 years old is now living in Canada. Her first husband's name was Grant, and he died in 1895. In 1807 she married a Mr.Klinck. She was herself the mother of a large family, and of 97 ofher grandchildren are living at the present time.

Her maternal grandfather was born in Yorkshire, England and was a revolutionary war veteran. Somersetshire, England was also mentioned as her Maternal Grandfather's birth place.
