Obituary.

A VERY sad death occurred at Reid's Flat on Wednesday last, Mrs. Sligar, wife of Mr. Alexander Sligar of Mt. Darling, Reid's Flat, succumbing to a combined attack of pleurisy and pneumonia. The illness was of a short duration, and her death came as a great shock to her many friends. Dr Le Fevre was in attendance, and everything in the way of medical skill and careful nursing was done to alleviate her sufferings, but of no avail, and Father Reginald was summoned, and he administered the last spiritual rites of her church, of which she was a devout member. The late Mrs. Sligar was 39 years of age, and leaves a sorrowing husband and family of 10, the eldest being only 14 years, and to them we offer our heart-felt sympathy. The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Hovell's Creek on Thursday. The Rev. Fr. Sheehan conducted the burial service and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. G. Patterson and Sons in their usual first class style. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen at Hovell's Creek, and consisted of 44 vehicles and a number of horsemen. After the funeral, the genial Mr. Thomas O'Neill and family of Hovell's Creek, hospitably invited the people to a well-prepared luncheon, which was very acceptable, since some of the mourners had travelled a distance of 30 miles in the heat.
