Biography

Joseph Arthur Sligar was born on 20th September 1905 at Boorowa, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Alexander Sligar and Mary Bulley.[1]

He married Lyla unknown.

Joseph Sligar is a Military Veteran.
Served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force 1940-1941

Joseph served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force (AIF) during the Second World War, in the 1st Corps Ammunition Park, Australian Army Service Corps; enlisted 10th June 1940, dischatged 30th September 1940.[2] Joseph had a second stint at soldiering, at the Army School of Signals, Liverpool NSW; enlisted 20th January 1941, discharged 7th April 1941.[3] Still not done, Joseph had a third stint in the 2nd AIF; enlisted 10th June 1941, discharged 11th August 1941. This time he was posted to T Squadron 1st Armoured Training Regiment.[4]
