Obituary
MARY GORMAN.
Mary Gorman, of Wentworth, passed peacefully away to her rest on April 21st. She came to Australia in early life and with her husband made her home in Echuca. There she sought and found her Saviour, whom she served faithfully to the end. Leaving Echuca, she settled in Wentworth, where for twenty-eight years she lived, up to the time of her death. She was a most loyal member of our Church and not merely witnessed the rise and progress of Methodism in that south western circuit, but was a great factor in its growth. Her Christian character was most exemplary, and was marked by an unaltering faith in her Master through all the vicissitudes of her experience. She was a true friend to all, and especially to the household of faith. All, who, with the faculty for spiritual discernment, came in contact with her life, recognised her as a meek, unassuming, and great soul. As a mother in the home she was a saintly queen, who with a Christlike disposition moulded the ideals of her growing family, and stamped upon each of her six sons and daughters the impress of her own sweet personality, which can never be effaced. Her end was sudden. Stricken down with paralysis while nursing one of her family through a serious illness, the end came swiftly. She maintained her characteristic spirit of calm faith and resignation, until silently and peacefully her soul passed out and away to the land where all is bliss, to know as she was known.[8]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Cable-1175 and Cable-1436 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these to be the same person based on the Victorian marriage certificate between William Gorman and Mary Cable which lists her parents as George Cable and Mary Magdalene Mahony.
